The 41st annual Lou Malnati's Cancer Research Benefit will be held at the Ravenswood Event Center in Chicago, IL on October 21st, 2011. All proceeds from the event go towards cancer research and treatment programs at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Gilda's Club, and Children's Memorial Hospital
For the past 40 years, the Malnati family has hosted an annual one-day charity event. Lou and Jean Malnati first started the event as a scholarship fund for local athletes to Wake Forest University in the name of Brian Piccolo, and after Lou died of cancer in 1978, Jean carried on the annual tradition in Lou's name and the focus was changed to raising money for cancer research. To date, nearly $3 million has been raised and donated by the Lou Malnati Cancer Research Fund to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Gilda's Club, and Children's Memorial Hospital.
This year's event will be held in a new location, the Ravenswood Event Center, located at 4043 N. Ravenswood Ave. on the north side of Chicago. The venue features an abundance of classic cars and antique neon light fixtures enhancing the retro inspired theme of Denim & Diamonds. Guests will enjoy an array of delicious food, an open bar, live music, and an exciting collection of live and silent auction packages. Tickets will be available at the door or can be purchased in advance for $150 each at www.events.org/lmcb2011.
