If
there is no dry ice in the package when I open it?
Dry ice evaporates, so
there may not be any visible dry in the package upon opening. If the
pizzas are cool to the touch the pizzas are OK.
How long can
the pizzas keep in the "keep fresh" coolers
All pizza packs have enough
dry ice to keep the pizzas for 36 to 48 hours.
Can I put the
pizzas in the freezer?
If the pizzas have been
defrosted we do not recommend re-freezing. Refrigerate defrosted pizzas
and eat in a few days. If the pizzas are frozen you can put them in the
freezer.
How long do
the pizzas keep?
We recommend eating frozen
pizzas within a few weeks to experience the best taste.
How do I bake
the pizzas?
All pizzas come with baking
instructions on the lid. We recommend a conventional oven. Pre-heat the
oven to 350 and bake for 45 to 55 minutes or until the crust is golden
brown and cheese is melted. Ovens may vary so watch the pizza carefully.
Can I cook
the pizzas in the microwave oven?
We do not recommend this.
Is the
sausage beef or pork?
We use pork
sausage.
Sending
Information
What
information do you need to send out a package.
We need a complete street
address, with correct; zip code, apartment or suite #s, spellings of
streets, cities and a daytime phone number for the recipient.
What if I
don't have complete & correct address information?
We need to have complete
& correct address information to successfully deliver your package.
If we send to an incorrect or incomplete address Fed Ex will charge an
additional $10.00. If you need additional assistance please call our
customer service department at 1-800-LOU-TO-GO (1-800-568-8646)
Can I send
to a P.O. Box?
No. Fed Ex will not ship
to a P.O. Box. Federal Express requires a physical street address.
Can I send
to a college dorm?
Yes, but because of the
nature of the residence a signature will be required. We strongly
recommend you let the college student know the pizzas are coming and to
be on the look out.
Is there a
card enclosed?
No. We print your
personal message on the outside of the box on the address label.
How are the
pizzas sent?
All pizzas are baked,
flash frozen and packed with dry ice in a reusable "keep
fresh" cooler and shipped via FedEx Standard Overnight Service. 94%
of all cities have Standard Overnight Service, for those cities that
don't we offer 2-day Service.
Can you
ship outside of the USA?
No. Currently we can only
ship within the USA.
Can I ship
to Puerto Rico?
Yes, Puerto Rico is a
territory of the United States, we can ship there for an additional
$38.00 per package. These packages must be shipped Priority Overnight
instead of Standard Overnight and will arrive the next day by 7:00pm.
Can I ship
to Alaska or Hawaii?
Yes, there is an
additional shipping charge of $25.00. These packages must be shipped
Priority Overnight instead of Standard Overnight and will arrive the
next day by 7:00pm
Delivery Information
What time will the package be delivered?
Packages shipped Standard
Overnight Service will be delivered between the hours of 9:00am and
5:00pm. An exact time of delivery can not be given, it depends where the
address is on the FedEx courier's route.
Will FedEx
or Lou Malnati's call before delivering the package?
No, it is your
responsibility to let the recipient know a package is coming. We
strongly advise this because the package is of a perishable nature and
needs to be put in refrigeration ASAP.
Does
someone have to be home to sign for the package?
When sending to a
residential address it is standard practice to release the package at
the door if no one is home. Please advise the recipient a package is
coming and to be on the lookout. If the recipient wasn't home FedEx will
typically leave the package at the front door.
What if I
want to require a signature?
Yes, you can require a
signature for deliveries to a home address. A signature is required for
all packages sent to an office.
What if I
require a signature and no one is home when FedEx delivers the package?
The courier will take the
package back to the FedEx Station and it will be the recipient's
responsibility to pick it up or schedule a redelivery before the pizza
spoils.
Will FedEx
keep the package refrigerated?
No, the pizzas are packed
in dry ice in "keep fresh" coolers that will keep for 24 to 48
hours depending on the size of the package.
