They spent the day learning more about how to motivate and appreciate our teams. As part of their retreat they assembled 20 wagons and stuffed over 50 stuffed animals that were all donated to the Boy and Girls Club of America. Giving back to our community has been a part of the Malnati tradition since 1971 and we strive to continue these values and pass them on to the next generation.
The Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry provides healthy and nutritious meals to 13 zip codes across Cook County. The Oak Park team helped to unload food deliveries, stock shelves, and re-pack produce!
On Sunday, June 23rd we participated in the Algonquin Lioness Club Pizza Challenge and sampled to nearly 200 people.
Also on Sunday we sampled at the Tinley Park Baseball League fields, and luckily avoided the rain!
Friday, June 21st we sampled at the River Forest Park District Parties in the Park to over 300 community members, enjoying a summer night!
This Friday, June 28th we’ll be making two stops at the Glenview Summerfest and the Itasca Park District to feed the little leaguers!
On Wednesday, June 26th we’ll be hosting Liverpool FC Legend, Ian Rush, from one of the world’s most popular football clubs. LFC will be in Chicago next week to promote its match at Notre Dame and we’re going to show them how to make their own deep dish pizza!
Customers took pictures with the photo back drop and spun the prize wheel for a chance to win various prizes!
We served slices to nearly 100 participants before their round and Lou’s was a big favorite among all the participants.
Lou’s served out 250 slices of pizza and local residents of Flossmoor were extremely grateful to have Lou’s as a sponsor of their program.
There, we handed out pizzas to parents and players as part of our sponsorship with the Park District!

This past Thursday, our team was out in the South Loop for the First Annual Jones College Prep Pizza Wars Fundraiser. Lou’s was a crowd favorite as we took home 1st place for “Best Pizza,” defeating Father and Son Pizza and Pie Eyed Pizza!
With the warm weather finally here, we also found our way outdoors this weekend at the 50th Annual Hegewisch Babe Ruth Baseball league tournament. Lou’s sampled to over 200 participants and many who currently go to our Midway restaurant were sharing in the excitement and anticipation of our Schererville opening later this summer.
Also, on Saturday, Lou’s was on hand at Lincolnwood Library for their Summer Reading Kickoff Party. Due to weather, the event had to be moved indoors but Lou’s continued in the fun and handed out over 250 slices to local Lincolnwood residents!
And finally, on Sunday, we marched their way over to Soldier Field for the Best Buddies Friendship Walk. With over 1000 people in attendance, Lou’s was a huge hit as we sampled out over 500 slices of pizza and the lines wrapped around the entire park! The entire Best Buddies program was super grateful for Lou’s being out there. There was a special guest DJ appearance from local superstar Chicago DJ’s Milk N Cooks who shared how much they love our pizza! A big thank you is in order to Peter, Philip and the rest of the South Loop staff for helping to make this event a success!
They worked together to assemble boxes of meals that will feed children who need it most.
Lou Malnati’s empowers our people to donate their time by organizing volunteer events at organizations they feel passionate about. For every hour team members spend volunteering, Lou Malnati’s donates $10 back to that organization.
At the end of the day, our teams assembled meals for children in need and Lou Malnati’s donated more than $100 to Feed My Starving Children!
