In honor of National Cheese Month, Say Cheese Fest is a social event that highlights restaurants and retailers that serve the cheesiest products.
It was Gouda be there!
The event was a “School’s Out” end of the year fundraiser, Reading in Motion, presented by the Auxiliary Board. Reading in Motion is a non-profit that focuses on bringing K-1st grade students in Chicago the foundational reading skills they need to start on a path for lifetime learning.
In addition to the fundraiser, guests received a tour of the distillery and enjoyed deep dish!
This end of the year Family Engagement Event brought together students, families, teachers, and staff for an amusing and enriching experience with science. Students tried some of their first slices of deep dish, and then enjoyed conducting an array of science experiments!
If Lou Malnati’s pizza is consumed pre-Piccolo Elementary School’s Mad Science Night, then it will be a catalyst for science fun. Our hypothesis was supported throughout the event!
Prior to Sunday, this event had been sold out for months. Naturally, Pizza Summit goers were ready and waiting to try some of the best pizza our city has to offer, including our famous deep dish pizza, of course!
The high-energy event had a pizza eating contest, photo booth, a brass band concert, and a performance from the top pizza spinner from the World Pizza Games…which is actually a thing.
In Chicago, we know our pizza game is strong, and this event really brought the community together to celebrate everything that is great about Chicago pizza.
Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria is looking for excited, enthusiastic individuals to join our family! We are hosting open interviews every Tuesday in June at Lou Malnati’s in River North. We invite you to attend and apply in person:

Our Bucktown/Wicker Park carryout was one of 10 pizzerias that participated in the First Annual Chicago Pizza Summit at Chop Shop 1st Ward on Sunday, April 3rd. After all, what’s a Chicago Pizza Summit without the best deep dish pizza in Chicago?!
Tickets for this highly anticipated event sold out in less than five minutes, a true testament to the fact that as Chicagoans, we sure love our pizza! It was one big party, and the 900 attendees enjoyed all the pizza they could eat. The event was not only memorable for the pizza, but for the keynote speech by the self-proclaimed KING OF PARTYING himself, Andrew W.K.
