On Wednesday, April 6th, Lou’s Crew members from our West Loop pizzeria sampled pizza at a fundraising event for Skinner Bark Park at Madison Vine Wines. Nothing pairs better with a glass of fine wine than a slice of Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza… at least, that’s what we always say!
This annual fundraising event helps Skinner Bark Park raise money for cleaning, maintenance, repairs, and improvements to the park. Dogs and their owners filled the store and there was even a photo booth set up to capture pictures of the dogs! Owners enjoyed wine and pizza while the dogs strutted their stuff for the camera.
The event was a 4-on-4 charity basketball tournament, with all proceeds benefitting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Participants needed to raise at least $2,500 per team to play, and funds raised from the event will benefit more than 20,000 people living with MS in Illinois. The teams shattered the fundraising goal by raising a total of almost $50,000!
We passed out slices of deep dish pizza to all of the attendees, and the winner of the shootout received a special Lou Malnati’s gift basket. We were proud to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society by participating in this event!
The Zipcar headed to Franciscan Outreach, a local Chicago shelter and soup kitchen, to deliver the pizzas. Franciscan Outreach provides basic needs like food and shelter to hundreds of homeless men, women, and children. They also provide professional case managers who help get them back on their feet.
