On Saturday, August 19th, our Evanston location sampled slices during Community Open Mic Night at the Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center.

Participants showcased their creative wordplay skills and spoke their minds in the forms of spoken word, rapping, and poetry.  The community enriching event was hosted by Connections for the Homeless, Our House, and The Infant Welfare Society of Evanston.

Our Northbrook location participated in the Annual Wheels VS Wheels Event on Thursday, August 17th.

Wheels VS Wheels is a disabilities and special needs Wheelchair Football Event that educates and encourages both children and adults to participate in athletics regardless of a physical or mental handicap.  GLASA (Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association), The Ability Experience, NSYMCA (North Suburban YMCA), and North Shore Youth Football League all headed major roles as participating organizations for the execution of the event. Head coach, Pat Fitzgerald, his wife Stacey, and players from the Northwestern University football program also supported the event and were available for a meet and greet.

In addition, the local fire department showed off some of their vehicles, there were bouncy houses, mini games, and deep dish for guests to enjoy!

Our Lake Forest carryout sampled pizzas at the 24th Annual Misericordia Golf Outing on Monday, July 10th.

Misericordia offers a community of care that maximizes potential for persons with mild to profound developmental disabilities, many of whom are also physically challenged. All proceeds benefited Misericordia.

Thank you for making Lou’s a tradition at this event for 12 consecutive years!  We’re looking forward to coming back for the 13th!

On Wednesday, June 14th, our Grayslake location sampled pizzas during the Summer Kick Off Dance at Jones Island Beach.

With Spring nearing its end, the Grayslake Park District hosted an event for the community to welcome in this year’s Summer.  About 200 kids and their families were able to play volleyball, participate in contests, dance, and enjoy some deep dish!

Lou Malnati’s Northbrook supplied slices of deep dish pizza at the Nuflatot Family and Community Carnival at Glenbrook North High School, put on by TotalLink2 Community, on April 28th.

What does “Nuflatot” mean? It’s “total fun” spelled backward!

The Nuflatot Carnival included games for students and their families, dancing, tunes provided by a DJ, and of course, food.

TotalLink2 Community is a nonprofit organization with a mission to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to have a great life in their community through employment, lifelong learning, recreation, and meaningful social connections.

Lou Malnati’s has partnered with TotalLink2 Community in the past to recruit hard-working team members, and we were proud to support their event by serving up slices of our delicious deep dish pizza!

Lou Malnati’s Lincolnwood participated in a City Year event at Sullivan High School on April 20th.

The event was a family engagement night, where parents and families headed to the high school to learn about the environment through fun, interactive math games.

The teachers and attendees were happy to have Lou’s deep dish to munch on during the event because…

Learning is a whole lot more fun when you’re eating deep dish pizza while doing it, right?!
