Wheels VS Wheels is a disabilities and special needs Wheelchair Football Event that educates and encourages both children and adults to participate in athletics regardless of a physical or mental handicap. GLASA (Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association), The Ability Experience, NSYMCA (North Suburban YMCA), and North Shore Youth Football League all headed major roles as participating organizations for the execution of the event. Head coach, Pat Fitzgerald, his wife Stacey, and players from the Northwestern University football program also supported the event and were available for a meet and greet.
In addition, the local fire department showed off some of their vehicles, there were bouncy houses, mini games, and deep dish for guests to enjoy!

With Spring nearing its end, the Grayslake Park District hosted an event for the community to welcome in this year’s Summer. About 200 kids and their families were able to play volleyball, participate in contests, dance, and enjoy some deep dish!
Lou Malnati’s Northbrook supplied slices of deep dish pizza at the Nuflatot Family and Community Carnival at Glenbrook North High School, put on by TotalLink2 Community, on April 28th.
The Nuflatot Carnival included games for students and their families, dancing, tunes provided by a DJ, and of course, food.
TotalLink2 Community is a nonprofit organization with a mission to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to have a great life in their community through employment, lifelong learning, recreation, and meaningful social connections.
Lou Malnati’s has partnered with TotalLink2 Community in the past to recruit hard-working team members, and we were proud to support their event by serving up slices of our delicious deep dish pizza!
The event was a family engagement night, where parents and families headed to the high school to learn about the environment through fun, interactive math games.
The teachers and attendees were happy to have Lou’s deep dish to munch on during the event because…
On Friday, February 17th, our Evanston pizzeria helped kick off the 2017 Polar Plunge season with the SUPER Plunge at Clark Street Beach.
The event was the first of 22 Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunges that benefit Special Olympics Illinois. These events make up the largest fundraising vehicle for the Special Olympics of Illinois, and proceeds benefit athletes all over the state.
The nearly 60 SUPER Plungers began jumping into Lake Michigan at 2pm, and they did it again every hour until 1pm on Saturday, February 18th. That’s 24 times for those of you counting at home!
In between jumps, the SUPER Plungers warmed up with slices of our deep dish pizza. If there’s any consolation for jumping into Lake Michigan in the middle of February…it’s Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza!
