On Friday, February 19th, managers from our Evanston pizzeria were at Clark Street Beach for the Polar Plunge. Although none of our managers were actually participating in the plunge… they did bring some hot deep dish pizza!
This Polar Plunge was a fundraising effort for the Illinois Special Olympics, and the super plungers jumped into the freezing waters of Lake Michigan every hour on the hour until 2am! There’s no better way to warm up than with a hot slice of deep dish pizza, and the super plungers were glad to have it.
Our Northbrook pizzeria is partnering with Pinot’s Palette on Friday, February 12th for an evening of painting and deep dish pizza.
Join us at their store in The Glen Town Center at 2011 Tower Road in Glenview at 7pm and enjoy some deep dish pizza while you paint! Keeping with the Chicago deep dish pizza theme, the night’s painting is “Starry Night Chicago” featuring the Chicago skyline. Sounds like a great night, right? Register on their website here ›
On Sunday, January 31st, our Highland Park pizzeria took 1st place at the District 113 Foundation’s Pizza Bowl IV at Highland Park High School.
This was an especially exciting victory, because we were able to successfully defend our title from last year’s Pizza Bowl! Who’s up for a three-peat in 2017? We know we are.
Check out a few photos from the night below!
On Wednesday, January 20th, our Wilmette pizzeria competed in Pizza Wars 6 at Niles North High School, and came away with the BIG W! The event was organized by Niles North students and administrators to benefit the District 219 Education Foundation. The Foundation raises funds for District 219 students who are in critical need by providing additional resources, like money for academic grants, and basic necessities like healthy meals.
At the event, we served slices of our famous deep dish pizza to about 1,100 hungry Pizza Wars 6 attendees. We had some stiff competition, but in the end, our pizza won out over all the others.
It wasn’t only a victory for Lou Malnati’s, the event was also a huge success for the District 219 Education Foundation. At the end of the night, $14,000 was raised to benefit the Foundation!

More than 300 high school students from Loyola Academy, New Trier High School, North Shore Country Day School and Regina Dominican High School, joined together for the first multi-high school dance marathon, in which they danced for six hours straight to raise funds for the hospital. Besides the non-stop dancing, the event included inspiring stories from families touched by the hospital, as well as a live performance from the band Pulsebeat. We were also on hand with deep dish pizza slices for the hungry dancers. Six hours of dancing definitely requires some sustenance!
The Children’s Bridges Teen Leadership Council organized the event, and aimed to raise $25,000 in support of Lurie Children’s patients. Guess what? They crushed it! At the end of the night, more than $35,000 was raised.
On Thursday, November 5th, managers from our Northbrook pizzeria sampled pizzas at the Northbrook Village Hall for the village Family Dinner. The Family Dinner was hosted by the Board of Trustees for members of the Village Boards and Commissions by invitation only. We sampled our Malnati Salad, along with our deep dish cheese, sausage and “The Lou” pizzas! It was a great evening with lots of food from other local Northbrook restaurants, wine, and live music.
