On July 21st, a class from Oak Park and River Forest High School came to our Oak Park pizzeria to learn how to make real Chicago-style deep dish pizza. Oak Park manager Mark Valetti taught the class and said, “It was a blast!” Judging by the smiles on these kids’ faces, we would say they agree!

On June 22nd, one of our Oak Park Managers, Mark Valetti, did a pizza making demo with campers from Shriners Hospital’s Adaptive Sports Camp.
The Chicago Shriners Hospital believes kids of all abilities should find ways to live active, full lives and this sports camp was one way to introduce the kids to a variety of activities. During the month of June, in addition to our pizza making demo, campers enjoyed activities like golf, scuba diving, archery, and more!
If you’re wondering why it’s so dark in the photo, it’s because there was a power outage due at the restaurant due to a storm that night. Mark just broke out the flashlights, and kept on making pizzas!

The Oak Park Fire Department hosted a charity benefit at the Avenue Ale House in Oak Park on Sunday, September 13th during the Bears vs. Packers game. Our Oak Park pizzeria supported the event by serving our famous deep dish pizza and raffling off a few Lou’s gift baskets. Although the Bears unfortunately lost, the event was still a success!
All proceeds from the event went to the Patrick Luby Foundation and Ride Janie Ride, both 501(c)(3) organizations. The Patrick Luby Foundation is in memory of Lieutenant Patrick Luby, an Oak Park fire fighter who lost his life in the line of duty. The Foundation provides scholarships to Oak Park River Forest High School students pursuing careers in teaching. Ride Janie Ride provides direct financial assistance to people in the Chicagoland area facing financial hardship as a result of ongoing medical treatment of various types of cancer.
